Giants in My Life

(Larry Jr. said: "Okay pops let's see you write a poem about this one.)

In public they got caught,
All the secrecy was for naught.
In dark of night they tried to hide,
After all, we had our pride.

Each the other tried to blame,
Neither wanting to bear the shame.
Doing what most giant people try to do,
Pretending they’re as short as me and you.

From the land of giants they had come,
Our family hid them and all kept mum.
But alas, the evidence was not to be denied,
Believe me when I say that, “we all tried”.

The bike was full size if you can’t tell,
And yes they’re giants (I confess as well).
May I present to you my brother and his wife,
And, so you’ll know, he’s made me proud all his life.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry, this is SOOOOO cute. Thanks for sharing this with us. I love these family portraits of yours, as well as the wonderful poetry that you write with them. By the way, doesn't your son know that his Dad can write a poem about ANY SUBJECT WHATSOEVER?!? Ha!Ha! You are GOOD, Larry. Thank you.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Larry, every one of your delightful poems make up each page to a wonderful photo albu of love you compose! It is almost like we can always go back in the archives even and flip through your poems and see the pictures too, yay!
