They called her the child of the desert,
because she was as proud as a saguaro,
But as fragile as a catus bloom
And reminded you of rain over the earth
and the last embers of the fire

A girl born from song
With hair like the unseen side of the moon
And eyes like the stars
on the hottest nights
that glowed
like the last embers of the fire

Friend of the coyote
Siter to the sun
She traveled with her people
All accross the desert

Where you would see them dancing
around an unearthly fire
that would burn into the night
Until nothing was left,
But the last embers of the fire

And after the others were asleep,
you could still see her
Singing, or dancing or sitting
by the last embers of the fire

That was years ago,
She should be dead by now,
But we still see her from time to time
In the last embers of the fire

Very well written and the repetitive use of the last line is very effective in this lovely piece you have shared with us.  I enjoyed this, thank you!

(sigh) Oh Liz, this is wonderfully captivating, sweet friend, such spirituality and myth fills these words and had me pondering if such a spirit still graces the land! (big hugggssssss) Well-done, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Liz, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Very well-written and with the full Gypsy passioniate fires. I could see and hear her as she danced and danced until the last embers of the fire died down. ***Ivy Rose
