The Knocker

Ah, the night, dark and safe
you think you are
safe in the dark, like a burned out star
when the knocking begins
like many nights before
a rap, a thud, a knock on the door

You open the door
and no-one's there
perhaps he or It is just trying to scare...
...you, my friend, out of your mind
so you hide in the shadows
and hope he won't find...
...you, with sweat oozing from all pores
and when you relax
there's a knock on the door
a rap, a thud, your name's in blood
written without pen as your panic floods

You fly up stairs to bolt your bedroom door
it must be imagination, and nothing more
once again, while you sleep, safe in the dark
there's a rap on the bed post
there's a newly left blood mark
on the wall, above your head
your mouth opens to scream
you pray to your god that its only a dream
but its reality, my friend,
and he's finally found you
to give a final package with postage due

the shadows move slowly
youre blind in pitch dark
The Knocker knocks no more
when the pain finds your brain
his bite is worse
than his knock!

(crawls under the bed and shivers) Oh Jeff, this had me at the edge of my seat, it was horrible Jeff, how it stared at me with his cold dead eyes! LOL! This is wonderfully eerie, sweet friend, I love it, Happy Early-Halloween, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Toe, Spiros, Sey, Nance:
it was awfully nice for you to
be allowed to be scared by this.
It was alot of fun to write and
was inspired by a couple of Horror movies
(that's 'H-O-R-R-O-R' friends, not....uh...)

Jeff I loved this but now I'm to scared to go to bed.  I think this is the perfect time to read some poetry......Very well done Jeff!

Jeff, I had just made myself some popcorn and settled myself down to read some PIP poetry, and I swear, as I was reading your Halloween poem, I was eating faster, and faster....and now its all gone. Oh, no, there is still some left. I'll save it for you as a small treat for writing such a neat spooky poem!
