Happy Birthday my Butterfly thirty one years ago you appeared
Such a little thing not at all happy to enter this world
I think you had colic the first three which we endured
You learned to hold us all in your little pinky slightly curled

Pre-teen years were a real challenge hard heads learn slow
Stamping of feet, slaming of doors, under the breath replys
Then a hug for Dad,sly look for Mom,on your way you go
Smiles then tears, hugs then don't touch me,growing so wise

The years have gone by with many ups and downs
I've seen pain,sorrow,happiness,love,in your eyes
Smile on your lips, crying inside, not making a sound
Don't be so brave my Butterfly you'll find the blue skies

I'm so proud of the woman you have become
Beautiful on the outside and beautiful within
Always learning,sharing,mothering,denying none
Enjoying your life, not afraid to look beyond the bend

Happy Birthday my Butterfly your colors do glow
The end of the rainbow is getting closer each day
Smell the roses, hug your babies, let your love flow
And Mother knows best so get out there and play

Happy Birthday my Butterflies_dont_cry

ME,
Way cool. Seems that the cacoon process always comes with pain. But the joy and beauty of the results...so worth it! Lucky you Mother Earth and bless your butterfly. Nice write. I liked that it's so real.
Congratulations to you both.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Too many times there are wings of solid gold
Given from heaven but stolen by mankind
Taken to the market and needlessly sold
Never seeing the beauty ... always so blind

Too many times these wings carry them away
Leaving behind pastel dreams in the wind
Forced to hide from those that come to prey
And in turn lose those with caring intend

Too many times the struggle is too great
For golden wings to succeed in life's way
Once in awhile they survive all the hate
Finding their peace on horizon's new day

This is my birthday wish today and always
That you always find your breeze to soar
With golden wings filled in sunlit praise
For you are one that I will forever adore

In so many ways with too little time here
Upon this earth there is no time to waste
Sending you warm wishes and birthday cheer
Never losing love to moments lost in haste

**************

Have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh!!  how can I thank all of you for the lovely words and wishes for my Butterfly?  And her words made me cry, but I don't bother with make-up so no problem.  Tears are natures way of moping the floor of the mind.  Thanks again, y'all,  ME

ME ~

I've missed ME!--No, I missed YOU! Did you miss ME? No, I mean did you miss me? hahaha I almost emailed you to say how much I missed your poems and you/ME!

Your poem is so heart-warming--and so are all of the replies you have received---especially the one so filled with love from your daughter.

Mark's poetic reply was awesome!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful butterfly. It appears to me that she was raised in a very loving cocoon by you!

EA
