Gypsy Moth Blues

Gypsy moth In flutters roams
Each night another lamp post dome
Cemented well into the earth
For gypsy flight of little worth

Oh how to find blissful delight
Within a lamppost’s glowing light
You flash a winking eye and grin
Allowing space to let me in

Then by the warmth of light bulb’s flame
The moth will never be the same
Now trapped within a lamppost’s light
Which never lived in freedom’s flight

Your sweet caresses beg me stay
Until the purple light of day
Within your chamber walls of glass
You have consumed a gypsy lass

No life left in a gypsy moth
A lamp post’s greed, a light bulb’s loss

To Sy,
From LIz

I do so love when one poets pen inspires magic in anothers.
(and Im shaking my head in respect of how fast you wrote this after just reading Sy's)
Lizzie this is lovely ... as is the poet.
and you knew a moth would love the light in this gem of pen.
Good morning Lady Santos.

To Liz

I am not a gypsy moth
But a dragon at a loss
And Randy doesn’t say
Or give me notice of his way.

We each have standers that we know
And never careless with a toe
A scale has two weighted plates
Each a different weight and fate

I’m sorry if I hurt you dear
You’re in my heart and ever near.
And you will stay within this place
Forever and a day of grace.

Sy,
Flutters of joy to you my friend
A true poet gentleman to the end
A gift for you, the master sage
Some gypsy powder on the page
A slash of white on screen of blue
A world of words I'm flying through
Just gently brushed against a place
Of poet friendship, love, and grace
Liz

Ethel, Thank you for your "fluttering" words!

Well, this has been a wonderful experience for me! My pleasure was tripled by the addition of your poetic reply to Mr. T's poetic reply! Two of my absolute favorite poets!

Thanks to you, Liz!--and to Mr. T.!

~  May your words forever flutter ~

I truly love the rhythm within this and the emotions that are inspersed.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
