At eventide a straying wind,
...comes calling cross the land,
Searching, seeking out the night,
...reaching out his hand,
As scented notes of vespertine,
...sound clear in tones exultant,
Settling over hill and valley,
...a peaceful calm resultant.
Above the stars come slowly out,
...from where I do not know,
Perhaps the spot where time begins,
...where winds first start to blow,
For all I know as darkness falls,
...a journey comes to end,
As nightime reaches out her hand,
...unto a straying wind.

Tim,
Well I don't have enough understanding of poetry to write Serenity's statement. But...I'll echo it. WOW! This is awesome.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

The quiet, gentle experience of night time coming on.... had I not read it myself, I'd not have thought it possible to write of such.

It so perfectly describes daytime gliding into night I believe a blind person, having this poem read aloud, could also "see" the change.

Enjoy this a great deal.

With Warm Regards,
Pat

Sheeeeeer p-o-e-t-r-y!!!!!!!!!

My response seems so crass for such an eloquent poem, but I hope it conveys how much I like it!
