Her head tilted
Just bit to the left when she spoke
Looking for all the world as if she
Was seeing things no one else could

Unsettling
her words
left a vague feel of disquiet
Although what was spoken had
No undertones
or need to hide

When eyes met mine
they seemed lost in a maze
With forgotten beginning
No thought of an end

She began a tale
Woven from past
But swayed, distracted
As if charmed by the piper
Drawing her out in hypnotic chase
Of words to describe
Explain

I listened
Watching for fears
But found nothing
Except that her head tilted a bit
To the left when she spoke
And the world
Disappeared

Rapt attention from curiosity? fear? Was this one of the lost but tethered medicated? I like poems begging questions.

You have captured someone here...can picture her from your gift of listening with your heart and painting with words.

RS... yes it is one of those that begs questions and can be taken in many ways... once in a while I get lucky and write one like that. Thanks for the thoughts..

Sy: you're kind my friend... none of the beauty you share in these words or most of mine.. thank you.

Loner: thank you kindly for the words and for taking time to read.

JB: It isn't that camera on your monitor you should worry about ( chuckling) Thank you forr the kind thoughts and words.. I just write what I think or see...and sometimes get lucky enough to do one well enough someone can relate to it..

Ser... wicked? (laughing) YOu dear friend are always a surprise... thank you for the words...and glad you enjoyed..

Martie: thanks my friend...  just playing at thoughts...

"She" must have felt incredibly ignored by your lack of attention.   NOT!

You truly are a wonderful observer of human behavior. I could visualize the scene as if it were before my very eyes (and yours! tehe)

Devilishly good...You DO have that quality of making the reader wish/hope that it was written just for her...

and when you write for the man, him, too!  LOL...

Good one, Captain.  More, please...

Haunting. You're a favourite of mine.
