silent grace

I talk to you and I feel light--

warm caress tempered by breeze.

I hear your voice

and want to bathe

deeply

in the rest of you...

something in me

prays profound

silent grace

gratuity

mere pennies scattered

to the gods

but everything I have

is yours...

always I know this be so.

Thank you--sight--

beneath the glass

giving kisses to a corpse

awakening

the sleeping me

seeing beauty

through defile

that transcends

miles of land

and etches in

the prison walls--

another scratch

of pity me...

I would kiss

each fingertip

and trace the lines

of life and heart

within your palm

to fit my hand

fingers laced

in understand...

I would--

if that would not undo

all the things

that make up you...

So I sit in malcontent

awaiting

vision of your eyes

everchange in

mirror-me

grateful

for the shivering

goosebumps

and those hairs on neck

that trumpet-calls

your presence here--

in me...

the silence
of grace
you have craved

and mirrored my silence
of gaze
