Xi Zhan Chou

He politely asked
That I keep
My red-stained hands
Off his pillow.

He didn’t want
To rest his head
Where I had
Emptied mine.

This bites!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

This piece intriques me...I have racked my brain trying to figure out the motivation here...political?..social?...romantic interaction?...I hope you will offer some insight into the meaning of this write...I know it maybe bad form to ask what this is about but I'm not ashamed to admit I have to ask...

...believe what your heart feels...

I am intentionally ambiguous. There are many different interpretations of this piece. One suggested an anti-violence message. Others include, suicide, masochism, inequity in a relationship, apathy for the works of others. I think all of these ideas are very intriguing and would love to hear more. Although I had a specific idea in mind when I wrote this, I would much rather hear what others THINK it means before ever saying the actual message. Besides, poetry is about what the reader feels after reading it... not what the author INTENDED.
