“A GUITAR PLAYING MOOD”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Been wanting to talk with you,
or perhaps sing a soft tune…
Especially when you’re close,
like you are this afternoon…
Brushed the silk of your hair,
kissed you on your soft lips…
Gazed into lovely sensual eyes,
traced you with my fingertips…
But I’m in a guitar playing mood,
as you do different things to me…
Thought I’d play it for awhile,
whatever happens, we’ll see…
I picked up that sweet instrument,
chords came from out of nowhere…
Just getting with the feeling,
you and I, this music, an affair…
Sounds like your afternoon was a lot more interesting than mine was!
The only hands I had on my body were those of a massage therapist--and that's a woman! haha
Lovely poem. Think I'll go hug my guitar!
Mingling strings even as we cannot touch..
my guitar slides in tune with yours
attentively in tone and time ..
sound-kissing before
chords slip over neck and body
toward a rush of song.
Nice one Bill....
Bill,
This is so sweet. I can hear the melody on the guitar as I was reading it. I miss having someone to play their guitar for me. I so want to learn to play, but I need to learn how to hold a guitar even before I can play one. hehe..
There are always the right strings to touch.
Thank you.
I think that I shall not see a guitar and its player in quite the same way again.
Well-woven, sensual!
Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
Bill other than the few chords my dad taught me when I got my guitar and a few rock and roll licks a few friends taught me, I can't play the darn thing.  I bet it sounds great played by you.  Wonderful write.
