One day I’ll fly three thousand miles,
meet Martie and dear Mister Toe.
I’ll pet Unprecious on the head,
switch cats with them, they’ll never know.

Their Needless looks just like my cat,
but sometimes mine is mean as hell.
I’ll give them Slippie, run real fast.
Don’t let them know, please do not tell.

My cat makes me take her to eat
and never lets me out of sight.
When I’m outside she peeps through blinds
and sleeps atop my legs at night.

Be patient, Needless, soon I’ll come,
then you can live beside the sea.
I’ll feed you pizza, chicken wings
and you’ll be comfortable with me.

I’ll drink a beer and celebrate,
but something tells me it won’t work.
I’m feeling guilt about the swap.
I love my cat, feel like a jerk.

But still, it might be worth a try.
If not, then I can switch them back.
After nightfall when it’s quiet,
I’ll put Needless in paper sack.

Dear Martie loves her animals.
I know she’ll love my Slippie too.
I’ll give Needless a happy home,
am sure Martie won’t have a clue.

ROFLOL, Michael!!! You could never get Needful in a carrier to take home....never. She is a free spirit and hates to be confined..give her the open spaces and the bird aviery to sit beneath, not the ocean. The only water she likes is in the fish pond.

They do look so much alike though...interesting that their people are friends. You are too cute!

Michael, I love this. It's so cute. But, most of all, I like the way all of you wonderful people are welcoming back one of your "family of friends". Marti was gone when I came here at the end of last month, but she has already introduced herself to me. She is a very sweet person and deserving of all the love you sweet people are giving her. Thanks to all for sharing your kind hearts.
