Mew like a kitten
Bark like a dog
Tweet like a birdie
Ribbit like a frog

Cry like a baby
Beep like a truck
Roar like a lion
Quack like a duck

Squawk like a parrot
Caw like a crow
Cluck like a chicken
Be silent as a doe

Hoot like an owl
Honk like a goose
Howl like a wolf
Call like a moose

Neigh like a stallion
Moo like a cow
Bray like a donkey
Oink like a sow

Crow like a rooster
Laugh like a loon
Hiss like a snake
Hum a little tune

Chirp like a cricket
Growl like a bear
Cheep like a chick
Creak like a stair

Clap like the thunder
Coo like a dove
Whistle like the wind
Sigh like in love

Cackle like a witch
Toot like a train
Pop like a burst balloon
Pitter-pat like the rain

Gobble like a turkey
Tick like a clock
Buzz like a bumble bee
Be silent as a rock

Sweet Linda, this is SOOOOOO cute. You are a delight, dear lady. I'm going to spend the day with my parents, so I've got to get ready, but I couldn't resist reading a little poetry before I go. I'm glad this is one that I read. thanks for sharing.
Love To All,

Ahhh, the sounds of the world. Today I am hearing the sound of leaves rustling in the strong wind, cars splashing in wet streets and a nor'east storm pelting the area.

I think since this is a nor'easter, you must have sent this to us!!!

I love all your sounds -- how I would love to see and hear before I vacate this world, the call of a moose. I grew up in New Hampshire and have never seen this magnificent animal. But I'm not giving up hope.

Enjoy your day dear friend, Marti

Marti ~

I wrote this song for children to help them identify the sounds of animals, but I had planned on writing a poem on sounds more for adults and you gave me some wonderful ideas in your reply!---but I won't plagiarize them! hehe

~ sending you some warm hugs--sounds like you'll need them with the cold front that's moving in to your area! ~

Oh Linda, this is too cute! Way cool, and I am printing it out (with your permission, I hope) so I might read it aloud to my 16 month old grandson.
Oh, will we have fun, Can't wait! He loves sounds, and of course I'll have to animate just a tiny bit to make him laugh, and join along. This belongs in a book for all to enjoy. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

Big Hug To You,
Pat

Wow! That really was a "BIG HUG" you just sent to me! I'm still feeling it!

And you're absolutely right about reading this animatedly. Little children just love it when I read this poem to them that way!

~ Enjoy reading this to your grandson--and give him a great big hug from me and keep one for yourself! ~

Delightfully done!

May all that has voice praise the Lord, if not, even the rocks and trees will cry out!

Enjoyed this immensely, Earth Angel!

So much noise, no wonder I can't concentrate to write. LOL!  This is really cute.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Passing gas like LongJohn Silver,
Burps from Balladeer,
Whispers from dear Toerag,
Sweet nothings in your ear.

This poem is wonderful....

Auguste ~

Whenever I have read this poem to children, I actually make all the sounds and the children break into gales of laughter and can't stop giggling. They always say, "More! More!" They are so much more animated than adult audiences!---well most of them! hehe

Sorry for disturbing your concentration. I'll be silent as a rock so you can get back to your writing! tehe
