Autumn blowing jazz
Over twilight, so serene,
The ocean dances cerulean
Blues played to please
A lazy Sunday afternoon breeze
There is so much, yet nothing to do.
So why not sit under a mango tree
Trying hard to freeze time.
It does not work….why?
I’ll never know.

I am lost somewhere
on gentle hills of serenity…
In the slow shadow of apathy .
Comfortable tunes in shades of fall
Lost in the words
Of poets and prophets,
I don’t feel that I belong
Being numbed by it all
In a world of lost virtue and profits,
War lurks around every turn …
And Equinox just turned the corner

Poetry is:
Passion, imagination and intellect running together.

Aloha with warmest regards, Cheryl Stewart Koomoa

peace disturbed. you start so soothingly and then leave the reader disquieted. i am tempted ask why.

are there really mango trees somewhere in the US?

CSKpoet - this is a beautiful poem from a beautiful person that wrote it, and who does belong...

Cher,
Sit a little longer. Peace has to win out! Wonderful write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Cher, sit not in the "slow shadows of apathy"
(great writing!). For you are so full of life and love and charm and warmth and wisdome and talent and kindness and beauty, that you will explode if you don't share it all with the rest of world!

~ Take my hand and let's go sit under the mango tree--together--in friendship ~

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Cheryl, I just wish just sitting under a tree could really freeze time and end the terrors and violence all around us, I would join you anytime gladly and I only pray that again like the moon a new cycle can be made and we can be rejuvenated of these sins! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Cheryl, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Yes there are mangoes in Hawaii and trees too...smiles...I truly do sit under one in my backyard.... I believe my intent was to contrast my wonderful peaceful existence in my Valley with the reality of the world in such a state of unrest and fear... Sometimes here in the middle of the ocean, we are sheltered from all that the mainland deals with... I personally do have some real challenges and serious dilemma to deal with at the moment and it has caused me to think differently and write a bit differently as well.
I thank all of you for responding and invite you to sit under my mago tree if you so wish...
aloha and love to all my friends at Pips
