If I Could Give You Anything

I'd give you the freedom
to find yourself
among your perfect deeds.
And, give you time
to take a chance
and fail, ~successfully~!

I'd let you learn why not to do
the things you weren't
allowed to try.
And, let you weep the bitter tears
you weren't allowed to cry.

And, even when your pride got hurt,
I would let you be.
I would be so careful,
no judgement or shame from me.

If I could give you anything
I'd be a mirror of all you've done.
An image showing you're okay,
you'll always be a number one.

..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons..

Pat, this is definitely going into my library. Not only was it written incredibly well, the messages woven through your words should be heard by all young people--actually, all people. I am so moved by this piece of writing.

"to take a chance and fail, ~successfully~!"

brilliant!

Pat, I really like this poem. It is very good. Thanks for sharing.

Love To All,
Ethel
I looked back at the thread you mentioned in your reply to my poem earlier. I printed the reply from Rob so that I can refer to it over and over again. Thanks a lot for bringing it to my attention. Ethel

White Rose, Loner23, Smartchick,
Thanks for reply

Cpat,  Thank you for comments.

Linda, thanks for noticing the messages woven throughout. I agree, too bad all people could not have recieved this kind of love. I appreciate you  commenting in depth.

Ethel, Thanks...Glad you saw my note to you, I also printed out the 10-page thread, besides his original comments which were superb! Not sure I'll be able to use it well, but certainly is interesting. And so kind of him to take the time he did in explaining and teaching. Great!

A very wise and heartfelt write.  I enjoyed every word.

the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

regards2you,

Yes, I like this very much for the following reasons:

l. The rhythme was very smooth
2. The words, while there are many, I particulary enjoyed "I'd give you freedom to find yourself among your perfect deeds
and give you time to take a chance and fail successfully."

This is one I put in my personal library under "Wisdom Poetry". Never too soon or too late to learn and often needs reminding. Thanks for the post.

Regards 2 YOU
