Near golden sunsets

0 posted 2002-10-15 04:30 PM

I watched the red numbers flip to 8:30.
Working late again, folders stacked in towers.
I was flipping off the light,
Gray ovrecoat in one hand, briefcase in the other...

And she danced around the corner,
Boxes balanced precariously in bared arms.
Her dress twirled with her spinning,
Raising to reveal cheap leather shoes
And gorgeous ankles.

I leaned back against the door,
Worried she'd find me watching
But I was caught, tranfixed.
She moved like a gentle breeze,
Her eyes dancing with her legs.

I jostled the knob
When I tried to melt further into the door,
Bringing her to a stop.
She didn't make a sound
But turned and fled the way she'd come.

I caught the look in her eyes.
Afraid...but infuriated.
She kept me up that night.

Enjoyed the peek into chance encounter as well as the change in scenery... yes some nights such things do keep us up... not what was but what we build off of..

looking forward to the second one MI...
