I Hate.. I hate the way they gawk, As they pass me with their pompous walk. I hate the way the say "no time", When all I wanted was a dime. I hate the way they cringe at me As I sit here without glee I hate the way, when im close to death, they walk away When all I needed was a place to stay I hate the way they only now stop Once my heart will never again hop And I hate the way they carry on Just as if I wasnt gone. Any response good or bad would be helpful. Tnx, Myke |

Hello, and welcome. Don't know if you are writing about yourself, or another. But I think you captured the pain of the homeless, regardless of why they are in that condition. I think that is the sign of a good poem to cause others to think or feel. If that is true, then you did. Warmly, Pat  ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Welcome to Passions Myke. There are no critics of the work of poets, there are teachers and students. I myself hope to always be a good student... I hear anger and also frustration, and yet somehow this piece speaks of another, not necessarily the author. There is much apathy in the world. Poetry is like life...living and breathing.
