ow Can You
~ By Sue ~

When I think about it
She is so much like him
There were so many times
When I really needed her
Those times she was not there
But just like him
She likes to make herself look good
Pretending to be there for me
But when it comes right down to it
She really was not there
If you can not trust your mother
How can you trust someone else

Sounds like you're coming to grips
with a lot of reality, Sue...
I'm glad you've got some place
to put your thoughts...

Sometimes it takes a lot of gumption
to release so much...I'm proud of you.

I felt the deep sadness and pain of this poem. Things that should be a given not always are and so we struggle. It is a very painful hurt wanting something or finding out that what we thought we had was false, especially when it comes from those who are supposed to nuture us. But, the good news is that once we understand that we can not understand the "how could you" we are in a much better postion to move on, forgive and heal ourselves.

deep questions and put in such a way that it was thought provoking. Lovely if heartwrenching.

This is very well written. I like your comparison. I read a report some time ago that said we all, male and female choose a partner just like our mother.
Of course if you look hard enough you can find another set of stats. which will say just the opposite.

Don't know your situation or if you are writing about you, but I do like your thinking process in this piece.

Thank you for sharing. Makes me think.

Warmly,
Pat

(big hugggssssss) Oh Sue, this is powerfully heartaching, sweet friend, I too have heard of this theory that Patricia said and my heart goes out to you and this dilemma! (sigh) This is heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Hon this was hard for me to read, as it reminded me of my own mother!

So, I'm sending you a big heart and hoping it makes both of us feel better.

SmartChick - how can one trust someone that isn't really there when needed. I learned that lesson...

Sue, I thought that you did a good job on this, even though it is very sad that people do this to others. If this happened to you, I hope that things are better for you. Thanks for sharing your heart.

Love To All,
Ethel
