Another one of my Parris Island editions.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I sit here feeling so alone
Yet I'm surounded by sisters
Is this natural?

All I want is a place to belong
I thought I would find it here
Is this my place?

It seems no matter what I do
It's never enough for them
Am I good enough?

Everything seems to come so slow
Like I can't figure out what to do
Should I even be here?

It's so new and strange to me
I was so confident in the begining
Can I pass the test?

All this goes through my mind
And I still keep going each day
Can the uniform be mine?

I push myself to the max
While my muscles burn their protest
Can I keep getting up?

The weeks fly by like days
The end is drawing closer and closer
Can I make it to graduation?

Read my work and read my thoughts
I'll go back into the night now
---Night Angel

this is a great poem. it gets me wondering if theres someone out there just like me. i don't know if your in the military or not. i tend to think you are though. I am and i can agree and feel what you write. keep up the good work.

I'm a dying romantic and when i can no longer write i can no longer live -Jeremiah Johnson-

Yet another glimpse into the past... and an accurate one as well...
I usually had these thoughts for the last 5 seconds or so between the time I was allowed to "Mount!!! Pray!!! Go The (expletive) To Sleep!!" and when I finally collapsed out of sheer exhaustion.
Thank you for a wonderful write, and for the wonderful memories.

We are all equal but we’re individually different
and able to reach the impossible if we try.
