Fancy parties,
glittering in gold.
A fairytale,
different than once told.

Underwater adventure,
an untold fable,
romance long ago,
A tale of life to come.

Each of these scenarios,
running through the mind
of Jane Doe,
sitting in her padded room,
as the walls close in.

Inside the mind of someone,
no one bothered to get to know . . .

This was great. The end wasn't something I was expecting. The last two stanzas were quietly powerful. Nice job.
