because you see only what l allow you to see;
the truth of me would disgust you.
Don't tell me to hate my mother;
she's so like me,
and l've never met her.
But l need her.
Don't tell me to be tolerant of my grandparents;
when were they ever tolerant of me?
Don't tell me l'll find love with a man;
it's not true, but if only you knew...
most of all,
don't tell me of your disgust,
for others interested only in the same.
You tear my heart out,
with every word of hatred you speak.
Don't tell me what l want is wrong.
Don't tell me not to die.
