Looking back at the past, Remembering your face, How long it took to let go, Reminicing isn't safe, Hearing those words you said to me, that once seemed so real, You took them back so quickly, now words for her to feel... You said we were right together and how it was meant to be, Those words never meant a thing, compared to what you meant to me, How easy it was for you to let it all go, I was just replaced, Retraced memories pushed aside, soon I'll be erased... Isn't that what I wanted, to be a memory of the past? I ran so far away from you, but you disappeared too fast, I don't want to be forgotton, but I'll always be second best, I want to be remembered as the girl you put before the rest... Dreaming for the day when my wishes will come true, Wish to sleep forever than awake to nothing new, Wish to have been wanted instead of thrown away, Wanted to give you reason, Enough reason for you to stay... Forgetting all my reason just to let it go, Escaping all the hurt, just wanted to let you know, This is how it goes, How it's meant to be, It's time to let go now, It's what you meant to me... Holding on for so long, but what were we waiting for, Why is it when you get what you want, You don't want it anymore, It's not so easy to give it all up but it's better for us both, Loving somebody just enough to be able to let it all go... -Ali- |

O girl, well first of all big hugs to you. I know how you feel. I had the same problem a while back. I was dating this guy that i cared so much about, but he was and never will be over his  ex-girlfreind. Well now we've seemed to work out our rage toward each other and are now really good friends again. He's just like my big brother! I hope you two can work things out. Men can be such idiots... I love your poem... I just have one suggestion... this stanza: Forgetting all my reason just to let it go, Escaping all the hurt, just wanted to let you know, This is how it goes, How it's meant to be, It's time to let go now, It's what you meant to me... Imo, you need to put the last line into two sentences so it fits the rest of the poem. But it's truly wonderful. And I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that... -Lioness |
