I would have loved at any cost

Don’t hurt because of what you did
You just don’t feel the same
I am simply sad ‘cause your feelings left
Just as fast as they once came

I’d rather have one good friend
Then a crush to last for years
You brought me days of happiness
To cover up the tears

I got my chance to feel for you
To have and hold you tight
But when I thought “this couldn’t last”
I was sadly all too right

Don’t feel bad for following your heart
Don’t shed your heartfelt tears
Lust for you clouded my vision
Only now can I see clear

However wrong it may have been
I needed to have my chance
To hold you close that one last time
As we danced our final dance

this is a good poem.... looking at the aspect of love and breaking up with a different attitude... i especially like the 4th stanza... good job

GREAT POEM!!! I COULD SO RELATE TO THIS. GOING THROUGH SOMETHING SIMILIAR RIGHT NOW MYSELF(LOL). ITS HARD BUT ITS GOOD TO KNOW THERES SOMEONE WHO CAN REALLY PUT IT IN WORDS. EXCELLENT POME
