A Better Place

As if I were the pleasant dream
falling gently into my tired head,
I flutter away now into my sleep.
The world is nicer as I lie in bed.
I'm in a new place now;
one with all the bliss that can only be found
beyond the gates of reality
and beyond the conscious minds ability
to be free within itself.
As the innermost caves of myself
are releasing their desires upon my mind,
I begin to see it.
The blank canvas that the backs
of my eyelids provide
is now becoming the works of my minds art
that, for the night, will be my world.
Behest to my fears, my love, and my wants
is nocturnal power.
The power take me anywhere.
The power to keep me.
The power to...
Oh, damn..6:00 already.
Time to get up.

Be it in the truest form, or a desperate lack thereof, fail not to understand that the inspiration is love.

Dontcha just hate it when a really cool dream goes out when daylight comes in?
a good write. I especially liked the eyelid canvas analogy.

Seems as though we both have something in common: We dislike the rain.
I love the way this is done.!

"the blank canvas that the backs of my eyelids provide is now becomming the works of my minds art that for the night will become my world."...I loved this poem, I've read a lot of your poetry and I must say your talent is inspiring.
