I remember the days you use to call me
"daddy's little girl"
those days are over now
you can't get them back

no matter what i did
bad or good
i was always
"daddy's little girl"

i'm not little anymore
and you're not around
so no longer am i
"daddy's little girl"

those days have come and gone
just like you,
you came and went

no longer are we related
you said it yourself
that 18th year

so no longer do i hear
the phrase that sounded so great
i feel no love
i only feel hate

all because of the one phrase
that you used so much
"daddy's little girl"

i have grown now
as you can see
i went through life
11 years without you

no longer am i
"daddy's little girl"
yes that's right
no longer "daddy's little girl"

i am who i am and that's all that i am and all i shall ever be and if you don't like who i am then leave!

I too, know of feelings such as this. Although, I think...that no matter how old you get, you're NEVER gonna grow out of beinf "Daddy's little girl"

great job on this poem... it's sad though to think that your father could just shut you out like that.  You still have lol, and you will never be cast out here in Pip. Keep up the good writing!!  lol

I loved this. Unfortunately my own father passed away when I was younger, and this made me think of him. Thanks.
