This song...It takes me home.
To the road with that little house.
Where I should be..Where I'm not.
I walk it when I hear this song,
no matter how far away it is.
Every step a tear...
Past all the pines,
and the lake.
Over the metal grate bridge.
Along the open fields,
where the wind drys those tears.
And the song ends...

I liked this. Very descriptive. I liked the line "Every step a tear" good job alex.

Great poem,
I know a couple songs that do that kinda thing to me.
Good imagery here.

"...ain't it funny how a melody
can bring back memories;
take you to another place in time
or even change your state of mind."

familiar feeling...good poem.

Jeremy

Be it in the truest form, or a desperate lack thereof, fail not to understand that the inspiration is love.
