hey all, well..this is kind of a strange one, but i like it.  my 'friend' of about four years just basically told me he doesn't care about me, and all i do is annoy him in a very nasty e-mail sent to my best friend (what a coward, aye?) anywho...this comes from him, it is kind of a song (only not in song format seeing how i don't know song format)  his email says 'it's the beauty of apathy' a lot, and even when i was angry and hurt i recognized it as a line i like.  hope you enjoy.

in a sea of alcohol,
i float away...
i won't tell if you don't,
but i've gotta get away,
gotta get away.

i'm not going far,
just enough to ease the pain.
gotta get away,
gotta get away,
gotta get away!

when you feel like dying,
and you just want to leave,
you'll know how i feel inside,
cause right now i can't breathe.
shaking and i'm crying,
huddled on the floor,
right now i feel empty,
right now i feel empty!

i...
feel...
empty...
it's,
the,
beauty,
of,
apathy.

i can't deal,
with this anymore.

you,
can't,
break,
me.
it's,
the,
beauty,
of,
apathy.

right now,
you mean,
nothing.
what was once fragile as glass,
will be stronger then before.

you,
won't,
break,
me.
i won't be back for more.
my heart may have loved you...

but my head knew the truth.

Wow! This is beautiful! I can relate to it so well, I had somewhat the same thing happen to me.
The line, "What was once fragile as glass, will be stronger than before." is so true!
You have no idea how much I appreciate this poem.
Excellent.

that was great, I liked it but you know I like stuff like that. Sorry about the loser who said he didn't like you. Guess life is just funny in the ways it makes us not want to laugh anymore. Anyways nice poem, I'll talk to you later.

this one is really good. I liked the whole thing but I would siggest capitalizing the begginnings of some lines because it got a bit confusing, I had to reread in a couple places because it was hard to tell where one thing ended and another started. anyway, good write and I'm sorry about the situation.

Well, I had to go searching for this one.  Very good.

Apathy.  I hate that word.  Seeing as how I'm dealing with someone who is so apathetic towards me right now.

This hit the spot.  I think apathy is the bane of being human.  You don't feel, your losing what it means to be human.
