You came to me
Below dawn's radiant gleams
You promised me the stars
The moon
And the sun
You told me
You dream of me
Of sweet kisses
Of painting murals
In my sky
But when you called me
"Yours"
I had to walk away
I won't be locked
In a cage
Unable to fly
I will not lose my wings
To just anyone
With a paintbrush.
