What is love?
Love is a hoax
Deceiving our minds and hearts
Giving us false hopes
For something that doesn't even exist
Making us think
That our stong feelings
Are for a better reason
Than just lust and attraction
Love isn't love at all
Love is infatuation
We just put a pretty name on it
To make us feel like we're not so petty
Let us think we have a purpose
Something to look forward to
But really, there's nothing
Because in the end
Falling 'in love'
Only leads to hurt and strife
It's not worth it
The long term consequences
How your heart breaks
For what seems like forever
How you shield yourself
From everything good
Missing out on so many opportunities
All because you were 'hurt before'
Love is worthless
Just another word in the dictionary
Which should be defined as
"Imaginary; that of fairy tales"
Nothing more...
Nothing less...

*** Just so you all know, this poem is NOT my true viewpoint on love...I was having a hard time and I just picked a topic and wrote. I just wanted to make that clear.

Nice poem, I think that sometime in our lives most of us feel that way once, usually we get over it and learn eventually that love can be a beautiful part of life.
