what the hell was wrong with you
why did you fight
did you take joy out of her sorrow
losing her will, her right
to be happy and free
loving all that she could see
you took her away
never thought of the day
that your kids might need her
that they'd bleed to see her
you got what you wanted
never mind who it hurt
never mind who it haunted

when she laughed you cried
when she sobbed you lied
you left them with nothing
you tortured your family 'till you died

and yet with all the things you did
and all the scars you left behind
the mementos passed on through a generation
and yet they are able to find
some closure and relief as well
no longer living in a personal hell

I've never been abused
yet I hear about it to this day
the things that you did to them
how heartless you became
and yet, some of them -still- cannot find the heart to blame

In my experience with demons, you can only chain them and set them aside. Beware, for you shelfs and closet may become crowded places indeed. In my life, i found slaying them is the only surefire way to be free.  Though, that is a dangerous path in and of itself. Poetry is a great shelter, it's good you've found it.
And good luck, with those demons.

Harbinger of what you fear the most
Your enemy of belligerent honesty
Destroyer of your livelihood, built on falsehood

yeah, this was heartfelt. and tis always good to get rid of demons, although you have to be careful not to put something worse in their place!
