Everyone had a dream
Their hope was soon killed
Peoples screams drowned out songs of love
All for the color of skin

Many men saw a problem
One man stood until the end
Passion drove him
To see his fellow man recieve love

Anger did not guide his heart
Peacefullness was what he longed for
He spoke of love for all men
And a simple dream

We take this dream for granted
Yes we have blacks and other colors at school
We even listen to different ethnic music
Do you know what the cost was?

People lost their lives, homes
But, they never lost sight of the dream
For their children to have love
To see love, with out lynching in the streets

His home bombed
His life threatened
Thrown in jail
Yet, he didn't throw in the towel

This is to you Martin
Wherever you are, look now
Your dream slowly but surely is coming true
Generations to come will know of you

I thank you for the simply chance
to love my fellow man
Around the world we owe you
may we strive to be like you, Dr. Martin

" I think I got a tan from the light in which i was basking."

I like this poem. I uhm...well, have certain feelings about things like this, but I will keep my mouth shut. I admire his determination and strength, but there are just a few things that irk my nerves about MLK day. Just like black history month...but that's a topic for another time, another place, and I apologize for bringing them up. anyway, good job

Boredom is killing me...
Boredom is killing...
Boredom is...
Boredom...
