I wish I hadn't gotten drunk that night,
Maybe then I wouldn't have gotten raped.
But I shouldn't blame myself,
Because I know it wasn't my fault.
But even though it wasn't,
I still wish I hadn't gotten drunk that night,
So that I could at least remember what happened.
The only evidence is the tape that I'm too scared to see.
I wish I hadn't gotten drunk that night,
So that when people try to talk to me about it,
I don't feel bad because I don't remember anything.
I wish I hadn't gotten drunk that night,
So that I could remember them putting a pillow over my face in an attempt to kill me.
I wish I hadn't gotten drunk that night,
So that I could know how close I got to dying.
Maybe then I'd cherish my life more.
But wishing is all I can do now.
And what's wishing good for?
A wish isn't going to turn back time.
If I hadn't gotten drunk,
Maybe then I'd be wishing I hadn't gotten in the car with them,
Either way I'd still find a reason for it being my fault,
Even though I know it wasn't.
Even though I could have avoided it,
I had no clue what was coming.
So the only thing I can wish for now is that nobody else goes through what I went through on September 3rd and my life after.

Like the others i'm very sorry this happened to you, it's not something anyone should have to go through, regardless of all the negatives that have happened from it, look at some of the positives and spread your message, maybe u'll prevent another person from this happening to them. But good write nonetheless.

Wow. I'm not quite sure what to say...except, this one's really hit home for me. Unfortunatley, I can relate to such a travesty. E-mail me at "kasai_dc@hotmail.com" if you want to talk, okay?

This...wow---my heart ached, and I almost stopped myself from reading this. Good job...very good...

Poetry is a powerful tool to be able to cope, to surrender to feelings and feel their release. That you have this tool is a good thing, though it does nothing to truly stop the pain.

This piece is well written for it's desired effect. Please, don't stop writing, don't stop feeling, if possible, but who am I to say anything? I'm a stranger. Strangers might be able to understand pain, though.
