Television is used for…

Listening in to detuned waves,
That emulate inside a box.
A box of puppets choices,
Of other peoples opinions,
Rolled up to suit majority.

Television is the destruction…

Of everybody’s chances,
Cast inside a voided hat,
Left with no celebrity,
To read those names aloud.
You may have won anyway,
There being no way to tell.

Yet…

You did not hit the jackpot.

You did not win the house.

You failed in the lottery.

You cheated on your spouse.

You folded on the game.

You chickened out again.

Yet…

Without our plastic nightmares,
That seem to look like polythene,
Without those botox glares,
Beneath a varnished gleam,
The world might burn and seem,

So…

Empty without a reflection in a silver screen.

Solipsism saves us from the atavism of the Equalitarian.
