floating down a river...

When I said, "I think we should both move on."
I didn't mean you.
I was stupid not to see this coming,
But every sweet little thing you said had me blind.
"What do you think she meant when she said.."
Blah blah blah.
I know what she meant.
She meant, "I want to be with you. You could never make unhappy..even if you tried."
She meant all the things I should've said to you.
I was stupid to ever think we meant something,
But you dragged me along,
As if there were still a slight bit of hope for us.
I was stupid to think that I was finally good enough for someone.
When you said, "I just can't be with you."
. . .I hope you didn't mean me.

Erin~
There is so much emotion in this piece
and you've expressed it VERY well.
I felt every word of this as I read.
Nicely done.

Isn't it amazing how many times that we just dont want to be ourselves?....or shall we say on the receiving end?....   Great Job!

nice job, i think ur emotions were expressed very nicely...i can relate to the whole situation, but remember, if things like this don't happen, what would you write about?

I agree with Jeff there: If nothing bad happened, what would we write about?  I mean, we wouldn't have this wonderful peice of poetry before us.  I'm not saying we should be happy that bad things happen to us, rather, we should be happy something good came out of it.
