You always said you couldn't wait,
You and this boy went out,
You always said it would be great,
You did it with no doubt.

Look at you now,
Lost without your way,
You have a little baby,
I don’t know what to say.

Your little boy is 6 months old,
Your parents kicked you out,
I’m surprised your guys still here,
Even though you took this route.

Your little boy is 2 years old,
Your parents never talk,
I can’t believe your guys still here,
At least your boy can walk.

Your little boy is 13 now,
Look at how he’s grown,
Your guy is still around,
His love has truly shone.

Your little boy is now a man,
Look at how he’s changed,
Your man is still really great,
Although you’re both deranged.

You could have had a better life,
You could have had some fun,
You could have stopped it really fast,
But now you have a son.

Sweet.....and with little surprises all the way through.

And some men do grow up, just like that...married her for honor's sake, went to work for his new family's sake, learned to be a man for his son's sake, and now he has a life worth living.

For me this was well worth reading, for the poem itself, and for the reminder.
