...in my boxers...

Tired of speaking,
I become mute.
Afraid of a dreary truth,
I slide you away.
Bit by bit...
can you feel the distance?

Why, with this ever growing,
does the love remain -
     grow stronger?
     And stronger.

Letting you so close,
afraid of what I might be
     to you.
Needing your touch,
feeling cold lifeless air.
Sitting in a comforting silence,

I wonder...

Why, with this ever growing,
does the love remain -
     grow stronger?
     And stronger.

Happy Thanksgiving, love.
Thankful for you,
I'm closing all off.

Hey Titus! Another well done piece. I must admit, it isn't my favorite from you, but definitely good. I liked the ending, and smiled at the reference to Thanksgiving. Is too Canadian.

Titus~
This is such a painful read.
The emotions just scream and cry in this piece.
The ending is just the nail in the coffin, so to speak.  Very 'ouch'.
Big *HUGS to you, Ti.  I hope you're doing well.

Very heartfelt poem. Wonderfully done. But you probably knew that without me telling ya.

"Sitting in a comforting silence"

I like this line; I can relate.

It falters, but is emotional, which I think you were going for.
