This is one that I wrote today.  I don't know where the inspiration came from, but oh well.  It's probably one of the better ones I've written lately.  Let me know what ya think.

SWORDS OF TRUTH

Swords of truth
Piercing the flesh of the unbelieving
Not cutting deep enough...   Yet
To penetrate the doubting heart
Drops of love
Upon the blade
Numb the pain of the wound
The point of the sword
Missing the heart
Although the heart knows it's there
And so does the mind
It is ignored
Jabs from the dagger
Of lies and deceit
Have mutilated the soul
To accept the truth, you see
Would make the pain
From lies and deceit
Arise again
The pain, for now,
Has been moderate
So to acknowledge the lashes
From the sword of truth
Would ultimately bring pain

Cody~
I really enjoyed reading this.  You did a great job on it.
I know I've already said this, but I'm really
loving your poetry recently.  You are definately
growing in your writing, and your talent is shining through.

you have not truly met the poet.
