I'm here again!  This is a poem I wrote recently...  It reflects both my faith in God, but also my never-ending quest for personal discovery.  Let me know what you think!  :-D  I'm glad to finally writing here again, I've missed being around here, hopefully I'll be able to post here more often now that things are settling down in my life.

HOLY LAND

I once was lost alone at sea
Paddling through the waves
Figuring out who I want to be
Trying to reach dry land

Appearing is the silhouette
Of the land where I wish to be
Still in avoidance of getting wet
I let my finger touch the ocean

Before I can pull it back out
The water grips me tight
Shows me all that I'm without
Tells me things that aren't true

I swim in the world's sea of lies
Unaware that this is where
Many a man lives and dies
Not knowing this water is bad

After being hurt a thousand times
I cry the tears that overflow the sea
Swimming in the world's crimes
Frantically moving toward the shore

As I am able to touch the sand
My feet are immobilized
Hardly able to even stand
As a hand reaches from dry land

My feet set firmly upon the ground
I know that I've realized who I am
The purpose of life I've finally found
As I stand with God on Holy Land

If someboy laughs at me, does that make me funny or just plain stupid?

I'm rather impressed with this one I've been in your place many a time, and I do know that if you keep your focus on where you know it needs to be, you'll never leave the Holy Land. And I'm rambling now, so I'll just say I like it(!!!) again and take off

Cody~
Your faith and your willingness to express it,
truly impress me, as does this poem.
You are a wonderful young man with a great talent.
Keep your eyes and your heart focused and you will go far.
Hugs,
~Vicky

you have not truly met the poet.

Very nice work, Cody.  Probably one of your best pieces yet.

Spend some more time in here.
