What bliss, what ecstasy death has  brought me
I smiled as they slammed the nails into my hands
Laughed as they raised the cross
My own blood trickling down my body smells so sweet
I wish I could taste it
The pain of the barbed wire and chains
wrapped around my body is pure pleasure to me
I can feel the moon’s gaze behind me
And the heat from the flames above my head warms me
I am aware of the animals around me
They don’t bother me
There’s a snake caressing my skin
A falcon keeps watch over me from above my arm,
Resting loyally on the cross
A rat sits on the bible they rested at my feet
They said they were saving me as they pulled off my cape exposing white flesh
And they were, but not in the way they intended
I am saved from life, from living a lie
Death is a sweet friend to me
God did not save me
God was invented so that weak people could give themselves a reason to live
He wasn’t there that night they killed me
Nor will he ever join me
For I am in such bliss that no one could penetrate this joy to bring me down
I enjoyed the pain until the moment I was dead
They were shocked, gasping as they realized what they had done
They had killed an angel
Not an angel of god however, and angel of reality, of life
These weak men prayed before me as my cold dead stare gazed at them
What has the world come to when the innocent die so easily
How could an angel deserve to die?

Just as an endnote, this isn't meant to offend anyone it was a poem written to describe a scene that one of my friends drew using me as a model.  i am against no one for their relegion and i do not think any relegion is invalid.

Very nice... reminds me of the :wumpscut: song "Golgotha."  Download it sometime if you get the chance... hehe...

Some powerful imagery.  I like how you dealt with multiple aspects of the actual crucifixion, as opposed to being overly broad and storytelling it... you talked about the feelings present, the experience, which made it seem all the more real.

I enjoyed this poem quite a bit.  I happen to be a fan of poetry that is somewhat cynical of popular religious opinion...

A very daring, very appealing write.  Much praise.

Wow...i dont know quite how to word what i want to say about this.

"God was invented so that weak people could give themselves a reason to live" <---thats a very interesting thought that never in a million years crossed my mind but am now seriously wondering.

The imagery in this was very powerful and i just overall loved it...LOVED IT

Sometimes I get so weird
I even freak myself out
I laugh myself to sleep
It's my lullaby

thanks guys, relegion is a thing i have pondered many times. i don't think typical relegions are ever something i will fully understand.  but i'm happy for people who can be strong in their beleifs contrary to what this poem may lead certain people to beleive.
