The place just beyond my eyes, where my spirit flies.

Calculate the time it takes to feel right again,
Sensing the time seep past your outreached hands,
Pushing the limits of your mental capacity,
Figuring out what’s there for you to see,
Counting the days until you will return,
Thinking of what’s left for you to learn,
The pieces of the puzzle fit loosely together now,
You’re lost in the corner of a circle room, now,
Being the Chosen One aint all its cracked up to be,
Wanting the powers of the sun to come to me,
The light of life tells me who to be,
Also, it tells me who to see,
To fight hard, and not to flee,
Is this the life you want for me?
Jump out of the pan and into the fire,
Watch your creator turn coat to a liar,
Nature’s terminal, nothing can be done,
Sullen voices that speak to no one,
The people smile at the execution,
The guilty man’s life has come to a conclusion
A society bored, lusting for blood,
Pick the next man they are to drag through the mud,
Blood pours from his eyes, ears, and nose,
He is lost forever in that morbid pose,
As hookers and johns walk down the strip,
The breeze so stiff through my hair is whipped,
Mutants crawl up and out of the sewer,
Dark clouds cover the believers, who are fewer,
Obsession over authority runs through the land,
Persecution chases man, like the One… God’s hand,
Children with no mother, father, and family,
Crying with their eyes, with tears so truthfully,
Their thirst for blood has come to my gun,
Me, I’m the almighty Chosen One,
The town’s eyes gleaming full of lust and hate,
Some people on the ground, in a comatose state,
Unbuckle my holsters, and draw my guns,
Bodies keep droppin’ ‘till the day is done,
The gun blasts echo through the sands of time,
You grow weaker with the hate of mine,
Once you’re lesser have been laid to waste,
I’m comin’ at you, face to face,
Running fast with guns out front,
Nothing in mind, but the hunt,
I will find you Magik Man,
I will fight you with all I can,
Until you lay upon the floor,
My family avenged, forevermore,
So I’m off on my mystic quest,
It will end when my family’s at rest,
No longer trapped in that circle room,
Trapped with me in the land of doom,
Oh, Magik Man your life is ending,
Falling down, your soul is bending,
Break your bottle containing their spirits,
The sound of a million thanks, and I can hear it,
“Thank you young one, for setting us free.”
The rain of blood pours down on me,
I am dying now, my use is up,
This fading feeling just won’t stop,
People gather with a teary eye,
To give respects, and say goodbye,
When the last breath has slipped past my tongue,
I rest easy now, my quest is done.

This is terrific, Darkness.  I love the storyline of this, and you carried it out very nicely.  It is extremely easy to read and keep up with, I felt myself zipping through this poem.  The fast pace also coincides with the storyline, as you describe the main character running progressively towards some goal.

The ending is also perfect.  Very conclusive, just plain well done.

This poem kind of reminds me of Wild ARMs... hehe...

Hope to see more writing from you in this style.  I am definitely impressed.

Hmm... I honestly felt that my attention wandered about halfway through the poem, probably because of the length, and I don't really do long poems like this. The storyline WAS good though, and the descriptions worked with what you were trying to say I think I'll be keeping an eye on you in the future
