Hey again, Impulse Pro.

I personally agree with this poem, to be honest.  Freedom of speech and expression of ideas should be considered more important than whether or not certain language is used.

But even when we have freedom of speech, we have to use it responsibly.  Certain things simply should not be said at certain times, and while they are free to be said, and no real punishment will occur in lieu of them... know that it will alter peoples' view of you... it will affect people in certain ways, it will offend some people and you can't avoid that.

You can know when and where to use certain language, and get through life just fine.  But if you abuse your freedom of speech, then you're really just giving it a bad name.

Anyhow, I liked this poem.  It's good to see you getting involved in a civil manner.  Because I guess you never got the chance for a first post, I'll also say, welcome to Passions.

I hope you have fun reading, replying and sharing with the rest of us.

You bring up a good topic for discussion, the first ammendment of the Constitution of the United States. The right to free speech is indeed imperative, but then again is it important to offend or hurt others? Hardly so.
Sure, we could express ourselves and that's ok. However, screaming FIRE in a theatre making everybody run for their lives (possibly step on some one and harm them while they run) isn't cool.
You could bring up morality. Whether its morally wrong to say what you want, but then again, you'd be agreeing with nietzsche so much you'd shoot yourself in the foot
It's not wrong, it's not right- but the considerate thing is usually the most just thing. The most just action, is therein, the best action.
Might as well comply....that is, unless you want your butt kicked by big men who don't like to be flipped off

nice poem man...later
