~*~ Here ya go Vicky   ~*~

The happiest day of my life
was the day I found
                    p
                   o
                  e
                 t
                r
               y
as my release from the hell
this life can be;
The misery and sorrow made its
way onto my paper
I had awoken a part of me that
had slept for years.
I have written since, and
I have never looked back.
The day I learned to love again...
was the day I learned to write.

Amen!   I love this, Rhonda, and I love that
you thought of this as your challenge topic.
I think that many of us can say the same.
Writing poetry definately has influenced my life,
as I'm sure it has many others.  Poetry is like
a best friend who's always there when you need them, or a cozy blanket to keep you warm at night.
Thanks so much for sharing this, and for participating
in the challenge...and for suggesting the challenge.
Hugs,
~Vicky

Hah, nice!  I was expecting at least one person to use this because they couldn't think of anything else.     I almost resorted to it myself.

Ioetry is indeed helpful and essential to the continuation of my life.

Thanks you guys, we all love Ioetry. It wasn't cause I couldn't think of anything else, it was cause I couldn't get anything else to work for me.

You are so my hero!

Okay, all...time for a little lesson.
Apparently, Rhonda is the only one here who
is familiar with this form of poetry.
'Ioetry' is a form of poetry that is written
about and from the perspective of the poet.
This explains the 'I' at the beginning of the word,
which is a reference to the poet writing in first person.
This is in contrast to the usual 'P' at the beginning.
The 'P' would, of course, stand for
"'P'retty much everything else".
Therefore, I must commend Rhonda for incorporating
the name of the format into the actual content
of the Ioem.  Well done, Rhonda!
Hugs,
~Vicky
