I look in the mirror,
And what do I see,
A little girl crying,
The footsteps of a childhood,
Lost.

I look in the mirror,
Beyond the average eyes, and nose,
Not quite so long hair,
A person screaming and imprisoned.

I look in the mirror,
I want to cry out,
I want to howl,
I want to change inside.

Then I touch the surface,
And the cool touch,
Tells me,
That it is me.

When it hits, sometimes it hurts,
Sometimes it feels like I'm stabbed,
But sometimes, it feels warm, soft,
Like the hairs of a cloud.

It is me.

Death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp
because the dawn has come.

Poet, Philosopher, Nobel Laurea

I like this, I think you used the senses well in the last two stanzas, also I think you have touched on feelings that many will be able to relate to, well done,

This is truly amazing. I liked the last stanza.
