There was a young female Brit
Who knew she was really unfit
So she trekked through the mud
Needing air, sweating blood
'Til she had to offload all her kit!

Limericks are back baby!
By the way, what are your favourite poems, people? Mine are "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, or, for a laugh, "The Miller's Tale" by Chaucer!

Nice to read from you, Eleanor.

Limericks are a lot of fun to play around with.  You might try to be careful so that you can get the metrical rhythms just right, though.  Be sure to read it through to yourself aloud, hitting all the da\DA da-da\DA da-da\DAs.  That's the best way to get used to meter.

Oh, and my favourite poems are mostly from people in here, at PIP.  Fading Away's "Hate," Child of the Stars' "The Perfect Life," among many others.  Look them up if you are interested.

LOL- muds great when it's still rainy. Dry mud on your leg while you're shopping isn't a good look though hehe...

I'm enjoying your poetry El, more please.

Alas, weight loss, the unrelenting eternal battle between the brain and the body. Very well thought out and done.

=) Nice topic Eleanor. Personally, I believe in being yourself. If you were meant to be heavy, you were meant to be heavy. Skinny is the same situation.

I wasn't trying to lose weight, I'm happy with my figure! I just wanted to get fit for health reasons, which resulted in me backpacking around Thailand for a month!

Enjoyed, my friend. A nice, refreshing origonality, for pip... I was saddened to see it end. Are limericks always four liners?

Thailand, eh? How'd you pull that off? What sort of jot is it from your place? Did you go with a group or alone? Fun fun fun.

Every time I see your name, I'm reminded of a Beatles song.

this is a topic i enjoy very much.

midway through highschool i got sick for a while, and then proceded to have a few debilitating surgeries.  when a jock becomes extremely inactive for an extended period of time, the weight FLOODS on.  i got really really fat.  it wasn't fun.

but i've finally healed up and whatnot, and have been working at it for six months now.  i'm quite fit [niccce muscles] and can run again!!  BIG achievment.  not only that, but i've lost a good thirty [and maybe a few more] pounds so far.  excercise is the best medicine.

nice job on an excellent topic.  as you can tell i could be on those body break commercials.  move on over joanne mcleod!!  heh.

oh, and my favourite pip poem?  daydream by fozzy ozzy.  look it up.  it's an excellent piece of work.

/jen/

at first i wondered why white oleander was in the six dollar bargain bin.

and then i read it.

The Thailand thing.... I was meant to be going with some people from my school, but they dropped out, so I raised the money myself and wound up going with a bunch of strangers. All good fun! And I'm a Brit (from SW England), so Thailand is quite a trek away....
