Through the tall grass the lion prowls ignoring jackals' eerie howls. Its muscles rippling, tongue aflame, saliva dripping from its jowls. Lamb or deer its just the same. It feels no conscience pride nor shame. It moves in silence through the night beneath the unrelenting rain. Its steel-weaved sinews now propel Its jagged body straight pell-mell. Its sabered jaws composed of steel crush a flimsy cranial shell. It growls and thunders as it feels the blood of its fresh tender meal drop on drop upon its jowls amidst the jackals' eerie howls. It savors deep and savors long the victim's struggle savage strong. And when its quarry finally dies it roars beneath the drenched skies. |

Really Cher, I had an ex-husband like this! lol... This was very descriptive, like watching it on Discovery. The imagery was incredible. Plus the descriptions of physical aspects, muscles, blood, etc. I do like this a lot, and apologize if I offended or took away from it with the little joke above. Very skillfully done. Enjoyed. Hi! Thanks to all for your responses! I enjoy the Discovery Channel as well. It does get one much more familiarized with wild animals. My favorite animal is the gorilla due to its peaceful nature. The lion? Well, I wouldn't want to meet one in the tall grass, especially in the rain at night. I guess that the predatory aspect of nature would cause a weeping rain since it is a sad spectacle both for man and for heaven to behold. Glad you enjoyed! God bless! |
