He rests his head alongside my reflection,
cloud watching;
The spewing skyline edges along the vacant pasture,
& across Octobers thoughts, curving
uphill to stroke the ginger orb,
awake.

Blinking homes, with too many windows,
revive, to coffee greetings,
where chimneys echo, in burps of smoke
that trail the powder sky,
in vapours of tenderness.

Dreams still lively within the minds eye of night
skip along daybreak’s breath,
reclining with contented ‘purrs’
in flicks of fur,
that relax at my feet.

Through the mist, the sequence swirls,
lingering about the whispering shades
of light,
I turn my stare, and fall within
the syrupy taste of reality.
whilst he, still cloud watching, wishes
he too, might drift the day away.

Would that we could all drift the day away. Less windows more introspection. A beautiful diversion.

thank you for the replies, and for sharing the day beginning with my cat storm, who is forever (like me) cloud watching
