Skippin stones
across the edge of waters
that held the dreams         of youth.
In our laughter we were young
going through the seasons      of change.

The sparkle upon the water     broken
by the slightest disturbance

rocks thrown      releasing ripples
upon the ponds of eternity

and reflections of surrounding life
become      distorted

what started as a      small ripple
upon calm waters spread out
into never ending circles        of life

until just like the dreams of youth
they faded into today.

Today I stand here
pick up the rock
check to make sure it is polished
to perfection
and send it              skipping

I watch the ripples         grow
and again I see my dreams..........sail~

If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream...

Now how did you know
that my tomboy self
slipped stones
from atop a shelf
of rock and stone
where I'd grown...
to skip them across
the watery shore,
then went looking
for more, and more...
now, how did you know?

Never could get the hang of it. Enjoyed the read though and the vision it created.

We have to skip shells here, but the effect is the same.   Very pretty, Donna!

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I just love this, sweet friend, I love skipping rocks on the ocean and I remember when I was six and my dad taught me how to do it, though I am not nearly as good as him! LOL! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
