Listening to every heart

Brave Hearts

Come, and then, come again
walk ye halls then walk thy glen
traverse with me a mist of mile
soon be here, so spend the while
pleas are but once renewed
see through fogs that visit you

Ah me bonny, winsome child
it has been some since the wild
of yesteryear we bore lament
though gave not in to torment
we held us strong in our cleave
now hootin’ owls toll our eve

This land, this realm, it gives us rest
come now my bonny to a breast,
to sleep soft, thus cleave to one
bringing life with morning’s sun
sustenance shall bring to thee
with songs we sing, merrily

No fog brings forth to you a dirge
escaping diseased mists that surged
forth with claim for any name
new countries shall hold our fame
come, and then, come again
walk ye halls then walk thy glen

This land anew shall be our start
For we’ve come with strong, brave hearts

(smiles) Wow!!! When I read this it reminded me of William Wallace's triumphant cries of bravery for independence in Scotland, yet this wonderful poem can relate to so much, including battles with our own hearts and for justice! (big hugggsssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This is wonderfully expressive and I love the Celtic flavor to it! I can't impress upon you enough, how much I love your writing! You have such gourme offerings---so rich and (ful)filling!

lovely, lovely...a marvelously 'green' piece

faith and begora, is there a challenge aboot?

I've seen two today that must surely be repeated next March for they are so much indicative of Erin. You are a bonnie lass, fair one, is your hair red, or touched with sun?

Your words are touched with sun and blood of Irish clan, and lovely mud that births the beauty across the land of lovely, lovely Ireland!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

if'n it pleases you.
if'n it don't.

Hmm ... I can't do Celtic at all!

writing in a foreign voice is very likely the very hardest writing to be done.  It's nice to see you take the plunge and succeed with umm...perhaps....
the "luck of the Irish?"
or just plain skill?
Perhaps
both

Somehow I wasn't paying attention yesterday and didn't see this. Thankfully I read it this morning. Brilliant writing and I could hear the music from the movie Braveheart playing in the background.

I have to concur with everyone else who has responded -- this is just unbelievably fabulous. I swear with each poem, you get better!

Hugs ~~ Marti

Ah yes - I tried very hard to set this piece to a lyrical tune as I was reading - Those who venture to land anew do indeed have brave hearts... Nicely said, K...
