Peacock Feathers

She spreads her show a peacocks best
Although the female of the nest.
And blinded me with blinders sigh
I cannot rise above the lie.

She mellows me to woebegone
And spirits me a lovely swan.
And I am earless to the day
And silence shrouds my cloak of stay.

Then night reveals a magic moon
And silver weaves a lace of swoon
And I am caught within her net
To wait and set and fret and yet

It is a web she made for two
A web of gold and silver blue
Magic weaves that holds the heart
A circled ring to never part

And I surrendered to the coup
A coup that make a one of two

Here's your bit of bouquet, feathered
as fall enwraps us in warm sweaters
a peahen to eye your gift in show
and feathers wrap us warm in glow...

The beauty of love is found in so many places and you sir find them all and present them in style along with teaching us a lesson or two.  Very wonderfully represented here.

morning sy....I adore the mythology of the peacock feather---I like to poke about some of the mythology sites a bit, so I thought I'd share:

Good morning Sy -- as always, you start my day with such enjoyment and today's entry is fabulous.

And Karilea, the picture of the peacock's feather is beautiful.

Hugs, Marti

I do so love when you strut your poetic stuff

Stinky...which shall I rave on first?
The melodics and cadence--the rhymes divine...the internal rhymes you slip in so cleverly....or the hip hop vocabulary of waaay cool....the delightful word play and analogy....then there is that imagery.
Oh how I love the silver and light of your imagery.

This is classic Sy poetry at its finest....
all the componets in place...and of course those always golden closing couplets.

She mellows me to woebegone

And I am earless to the day

To wait and set and fret and yet

yer so coool in your woebegone.

Seymour, I am completely in awe of your work. Every single piece of poetry of yours that I have read is absolutely beautiful....no matter what the subject is. And what makes you and these other poets so great is the humble way you answer your comments that people make to you. You all have a kind word for each of us. Thank you so much for sharing your work.

With love To You All,
Ethel

JM,
I could read your praises all day and most of the night. Your words sooth my Randy and me until I am sailing in fantasy. And that is where I love to be. I'll meet you in my valley green We'll talk about some seem and some dreams. Have some raspberry tea and forget about reality. WWRS

Ethel,
Thank you so much for the lovely comment. you are now part of my Ivory tower.
