Once I knew a learned man,
...who studied butterflies,
Wings spread apart as if in flight,
...encased in tempered glass.
A needle pierced each butterfly,
...help captive in its death,
No longer free the butterfly,
...to touch upon the sky.

Once I knew a blonde haired child,
...who loved to run and play,
One day she saw a butterfly,
...land on a patch of clover.
She gazed upon the butterfly,
...and marveled at its splendor,
She watched until the butterfly,
...flew off to touch the sky.

Once I saw I butterfly,
...I dreamt in in a dream,
Wings spread apart as if in flight,
...encased in tempered glass.
A blonde haired child removed the glass,
...she pulled a needle out,
Then I saw the butterfly,
...fly off to touch the sky.

Once I was a learned man,
...held captive by the glass,
Then I was touched by a young child,
...she touched and set me free,
Freed from shackles of the mind,
...to seek a summer's breeze,
To soar as golden butterfly,
...to touch upon the sky.

A beautiful ending. Butterflies should ALWAYS be free.
