A survivor of
an avalanche of knowledge…
Victim of stale interpretations,
threadbare memories,
and inhaled phermones
of primal fear.
Exorcise the ghosts
of yesterday;
Those conditioned
hologram responses
which terminally
haunt the cellular level;
Atoms of doubt
disperse and gather
like flocks of migratory birds
vanishing in the blink of an eye….
New cells of hope
making a
grand appearance,
re-creating
again and again,
in the intergalactic space
of soul and body….
A last chance to change
is the interval between
Heaven’s gate
and the hell of
missing the mark
once again

Poetry is:
Passion, imagination and intellect running together.

Aloha with warmest regards, Cheryl Stewart Koomoa

You 2 : hugs and big thanks..
I am stepping out into a new horizon for me...a more modern style of free verse..
It is a little intimidating as I leave the comfortable "love poem" place for new ground.
Therefore I am extremely delighted that this had an impact and such a response!
You both made my evening!

A very powerful piece you have left with us.  I am trying to remember reading one of this style from you, but none the less, it definitely reads great coming from your pen.  There are some comparisons to this one and my life right now that I will hold on to and I thank you for that.  It is always a plearsure for me when I find one of your works and this one holds special meanings that will carry me through this day.  Excellent writing.

Cher, absolutely brilliant! Not only did it appeal to my artistic side, but it appealed to my scientific side as well!

Here's to improving the contents of our cellular memory!

Mark: I am so glad to see you show up ...This is a fairly new form for me...I think we all struggle with  our Self and it's destructive side, desiring to overcome and get the lesson learned down so that it might not have to be tested again in that area...then growth..and on to the next test to shape our character...
Anyhow I am glad it hit home for you..it was meant to bring some insight and wisdom.
I have been tested so very much and growth is ongoing.
Thanks for gracing my poem with your thoughtful comments.
aloha, Cher

EA: Wonderful I hoped it woud give insight and bless..thanks for you eager comments and kindness

Midnite: I am glad this imparted something of value to you..thanks so much!

Don't know how I missed this earlier.
Simply put, you are a genius!

One of the best poems I've read in long time.
